Tool Library Available to Corn Hill Neighbors

At the November General Meeting of the Corn Hill Neighbors Association, neighbors approved the expenditure of funds from the Development Committee budget to join forces with the South Wedge Planning Committee's Tool Library. According to SWPC Executive Director, Daniel Buyer, this twenty-year-old resource will now be known as the South Wedge/Corn Hill Tool Library.

The library of over 300 tools consists of just about every possible tool needed for gardening, lawn care, carpentry, painting, masonry and electrical work, including power tools, ladders, scaffolding and dollies. As of January 2003, Corn Hill neighbors will be permitted to borrow tools from the library, located at 224 Mount Hope Avenue, just across the Ford Street Bridge. Currently the library is open from 10 AM-2PM on Saturdays, but the Corn Hill funds will help to extend these hours, perhaps add an additional day for borrowing as well as provide funds for the purchase of more tools. Interested borrowers may contact the Tool Librarian at 256-1740, extension 3. A one-year "user's fee" of $10. and a photo ID will be required.

A big "Thank-You" to John Holley, who has agreed to be the Corn Hill liaison to the South Wedge/Corn Hill Tool Library. Any suggestions or questions may be directed to John at 721-5437. Whether you are rehabbing an old home or simply maintaining your residence as an owner or as a renter, it is hoped that this resource will be of value to the entire Corn Hill community.
